2012 Artist in Residence: Alice McEnerney Cook

Alice McEnerney Cook created the following paintings (and more) during a two-week stay at the Virginia Coastal Reserve LTER site. They are all oil paintings either or board or stretched canvas, prepared at locations out in the field in less than 3 hours each using Plein Aire Painting techniques.

The paintings she created during her residency (along with those created by local schoolteachers during an Art and Ecology workshop she led) are scheduled to be on display at our local Barrier Islands Center museum in September 2012 and then in the lobby of the Science and Engineering library at UVA in October 2012. Alice will give presentations about the works and projects on the opening day of each exhibit.
